Brisbane’s New Dining Destination: L’Americano

Coco Republic is delighted to reveal the reopening of the Fortitude Valley showroom after a substantial renovation, now complete with an exciting new dining destination.

L’Americano transports guests to the Italian Riviera on Brisbane’s bustling Wickham Street. This exciting second hospitality offering by Coco Republic is a conceptual sister bar to L’Americano Espresso Bar in Alexandria, Sydney, which opened in 2015.

The café draws inspiration from film noir The Talented Mr Ripley and the character of Marge Sherwood. With chic effortless style, Marge has become a fashion icon for her signature wardrobe of casual meets coastal glamour. Her softly sophisticated manner and enviable vacation style for an opulent life on the Italian coast sets the scene.

L’Americano is a dining experience that Marge would frequently indulge in, featuring an inspired yet casual modern Italian food and beverage menu. Celebrating the artisan food heritage of its inspiration, classic options excite the palate including a variety of delicious crostini, salads and beautifully crafted organic egg dishes. Serving Vittoria Coffee’s premium blend, L’Americano is equipped with a Faema Legend E61 machine. Patrons can expect fine restaurant dining in a relaxed setting – a welcome addition to the inner Brisbane dining and coffee scene.

L’Americano offers a breakfast and lunch or casual bite menu with seasonal locally sourced produce and a relaxed European style. Head Chef, Barry Jarman comments, “From our signature selection of crostini to the appetising variety of antipasto, we offer a classic yet contemporary, Italian style menu with elements that change throughout the season.”

A beautiful café interior fit out takes cues from the nautical Riviera and draws essence from the old world charm of the 1950s Italian coast. Walls are adorned with collectable mahogany superyachts, whilst premium materials including marble, timber and ceramic tile exude a sense of relaxed luxury. Gold leafing, exquisite lighting and a decadent service bar all deliver an elegant and sophisticated aesthetic that is a hallmark of Coco Republic. From grand handcrafted timber tables to petite café settings and banquet seating, L’Americano caters to various group sizes and presents a versatile events and catering offering in partnership with The Fresh Collective.

The café interior extends through grand glass doors into the beautifully renovated Coco Republic showroom. Synonymous with timeless style and modern elegance, two levels of interiors inspiration are the perfect home to the brand’s furniture and homewares collections, set adjacent to the Max Sparrow gallery, within the Coco Republic family of brands.

Open now the substantial Brisbane showroom will be showcasing the 2018-19 outdoor collection, with a range of international designs interpreted for the Australian market. With over 200 pieces, the new line combines enviable coastal style with luxury livable comfort, to create inviting social settings for lounging, dining and a life alfresco; all perfect for the Queensland lifestyle.

Anthony Spon Smith, Coco Republic Executive Director says of the site relaunch, “With Queensland as one of our biggest markets, we felt that Brisbane was the perfect location to expand our hospitality offering with the opening of a second L’Americano. Outdoor entertaining comes hand in hand with living in the Sunshine State, which is why we are also very excited to be bringing the new 1819 outdoor collection to the renewed Fortitude Valley showroom this August.”

Enhancing a solid design offering in Queensland, Coco Republic operates a dedicated interior design studio and property styling services in addition to the inspirational retail showroom in Fortitude Valley.
