Places & Faces

Travel Destination: Byron Bay NSW

For so many years Australia’s Byron Bay has existed as a stunning corner of the world; a summer haven attracting hippies, surfers and travellers alike.

Travel there today and you’ll not only be captivated by the town’s chilled out beach lifestyle, you’ll be spoiled for interior inspiration and outstanding local design.

Book your stay at The Atlantic Byron Bay – a boutique hotel right in the heart of Byron. This unique Byron Bay accommodation is a collection of individually styled guestrooms in original coastal cottages surrounded by palm trees. Choose from ‘The Standard’ with its laid back and surf shack feel, ‘The Premium’ for comfort and calm or you can spoil yourself and book ‘The Tropical’ with an outlook over the palms.  Each space is styled beautifully and is just a stone’s throw from the beach, the town and the local growers markets on every Thursday.

Shopping wise, check out Ahoy Trader – a cleverly curated store filled with homewares, cushions, fashion, and art by local owner and artist Jai Vasicek.  I’ll be sure to pick up a round towel from The Beach People and one of Jai’s signature ceramic crosses for my wall.

Next stop is Island Luxe – the destination for casual grunge.  Shop their leather range, or pick up a set of gorgeous linen sheets from Hale Mercantile Co.
