Introducing the new Summer collection from Coco Republic
It’s a California state of mind for Summer 2020/21 as Coco Republic embraces a modern Californian vibe with the newest collection of furniture and homewares.
Landing in store mid-October 2020, new designs embody west coast style with unique silhouettes, a play on mixed materials and forms that draw inspiration from the organic tones and textures of the California Coast. Coco Republic takes a new approach to interior style with a juxtaposition of refinement and rawness.
Summer sees Coco Republic’s largest ever seasonal release with over 300 new introductions next month. New sectional sofa and modular designs bring deep seated comfort to the forefront in a cool Californian aesthetic. Curved forms add statement style to the home this summer with new occasional chairs in boucle, leather and linen alongside coffee and side tables in beautifully unique profiles. Rounded shapes continue to dining tables and chairs designs, keeping entertaining front of mind. Sculptural cues inform new lighting designs whilst a line of large scale modern oil paintings have been introduced to the Coco Republic offering for the first time in several years. The Summer collection also sees new bar, desk chairs, rug, mirror, planter and decor options.
Contemporary edge balances timeless appeal with marble introductions, tan leathers and various tones in rich velvet. Brass accents seep through the collection, as does warm terracotta and organic whites in décor and charcoal feature pieces.
Designed and sourced by Coco Republic designer and co-owner Anthony Spon-Smith, the new arrivals enhance the indoor to outdoor lifestyle synonymous with the way we live and enjoy our homes in Australia and New Zealand.
Anthony Spon-Smith says of the new Summer collection, “This Summer we ran with a modern Californian vibe to take the season into a more progressive direction. I’ve taken inspiration from the beautiful state of California from recent, frequent trips there to introduce seasonal highlights with interesting shapes and forms, contrasted with textured fabrics, natural leathers and brass accents.”

The Baleno Dining Table, introduced last season in a marble and brass coffee table, soon arrives in rich charcoal timber for the modern dining room.
With distinctive style and impressive scale, the Gypsum red striated marble coffee table adds a whole new luxury to living areas. The new charcoal timber Baleno coffee table brings strikingly unique curved form to the living room. These show-stopping coffee tables look great paired with an oversized sofa in luxe linen or natural leather.
Working from home will never be more enjoyable this season with the introduction of desk chairs this season, a new category for Coco Republic. The Jackson desk chair is a petite styled desk or dressing chair, made in boucle with a matt black swivel base. The Terrace desk chair has a late seventies design form also made in on trend boucle, perfect for the modern desk ensemble. House favourite, the Melrose Dining Chair, now comes in a swivel desk version in beautiful charcoal velvet.
Storage & Casegoods:
The Rawson sideboard borrows its elegant form from the 1940’s French renaissance with its sleek lines, geometric reeded wood patterning and minimalist form. The new Amsterdam collection of casegoods, references artistic heritage with its high contrast materials, featuring black timber veneer, panels of elegant fluted glass that are offset by aged brass accents. Bars for the season are key to entertaining at home, with Harlem as the first of a number of 2020 designs to land this Summer.
Over 40 pieces of décor will be introduced this summer. Adding another layer of texture to styling are new décor items including the Miran, Danyon and Gray planters, vases and vessels – all hand made from textured ceramics to give a rustic, aged crackling effect. The Pilar Travertine statues portray the pourus characteristics of the stone, the design inspired by jewellery and have a staggered three sizing effect to be admired from near and afar.
Two brand new notable mirrors this season are the Farlen Mirror made in mesh and the Clover Mirror in timber. Both add an exceptional statement as a floor mirror in an entry, bedroom or living space.
Summer sees one of Coco Republic’s largest new introductions to date. Standouts include the Otto Table Lamp with a stunning travertine designer base, the Tao Leather Table Lamp (also in a floor lamp version) and the Noah Floor Lamp made in alabaster inspired by old Hollywood and a photography light. These pieces add luminosity whilst making a statement to any desk or side table.
