Nod To A Bygone Era

The Chicago Athletic Association Hotel is a Venetian Gothic landmark in Chicago.

Reserved for the elite and privileged for 122 years, today the hotel is both a novel downtown destination on the doorstep of Millennium Park and a historic monument to a bygone era.

The property impresses with its attention to detail and history: mosaic floors, woodwork, stained glass, and masonry are original details dating back to 1893 when it was first built as a clubhouse.

When recreated as a hotel, interiors firm Roman & Williams preserved many of these details and re-created those unable to be preserved.

The Suites

Highlighting early 20th-century-inspired craftsmanship and attention to detail, the elegantly appointed guest rooms reference the traditional clubrooms of athletic associations gone by.

While indulging in old-world Chicago style, modern-day amenities are on offer; guests have a choice of classic queen, king, or double rooms.

For even more space, Superior guest rooms are available, as are Holy Cow Suites, expansive suites offering cozy working fireplaces, separate seating areas, and oversized bathrooms.

Cindy’s Restaurant

Perched within a vaulted glass and steel rooftop atrium, Cindy’s is a rooftop restaurant and open-air terrace with panoramic views of Millennium Park, The Art Institute and Lake Michigan.

Cherry Circle Room

Cherry Circle Room is the reinvention of the iconic restaurant of the same name that has serviced the Chicago Athletic Association and its members for generations.

The intimate, James Beard award-winning space (Outstanding Restaurant Design) has been fully reimagined and restored by Land and Sea Dept., melding the building’s historic original features with modern design elements that root the experience firmly in the present.
