Dine and Design in Bali

Bali, the playground of Asia, bustling with thousands of scooters, tourists galore, and an array of very chic interiors that take Balinese style to a whole new level.

Having been twice this year and already planning the next trip, I have picked some fantastic restaurant interiors that stand out on the world stage.

Mama San in Seminyak is the perfect example of east meets west. The stunning contemporary mural on the back wall hovers over the main dining space filled with industrial pendant lights and and marble topped tables.

Laca Laca is a great new Mexican restaurant with colour and vibrancy of Mexico brought to Indonesia. Again, the industrial trend has been brought to the interior with the vintage seating in playful colours contrasting with the washed back rendered walls.

Sardine serves not only amazing food but a stunning interior space. Wearing all white loose linens would not be over the top here as the open air bungalow is set amongst a vivid green rice paddy contrasting with the white lounges, setting the tone for a tropical paradise.

Other notable mentions: Naughty Nuris – traditional Warung with amazing pork ribs.  La Luciola – beach front Italian at its best…especially brunch! Sarong – Beautiful Thai and killer cocktails. Ku de ta – A mainstay in Bali that is still the one of the coolest beach clubs around.

Need somewhere to stay? Head to the W Hotel for amazing service and ultra cool vibe, Alila Soori for absolute luxury, or Como Shambala to get centered and Zen.
