The familiar Spring itch- it’s a new season, the weather is changing, and all of a sudden you’re looking to give your home a facelift; nothing too drastic, just a new look. Something fresh and unexpected.
Adding a statement mirror to your interior is a fantastic way to change up your room without investing in a whole new look. There are a variety of strong looks to choose from, so do your research and ensure that the mirror you go for works with your existing interior.
Floor length mirrors
Having just recently purchased a floor length mirror from Coco Republic for my art deco apartment, I can’t help but feel excited for the possibilties. It’s currently positioned in my living room, on a blank wall, so that it reflects light and furniture already in the space. But I know as soon as I get bored of it there I’ll move it to my bedroom, to create an opulent dressing room environment. After that it'll go out to my entrance hall. Opportunities are endless.
One of my all time favourite statement mirrors: the gold gilded sun or star style mirror. Try this style in a hall way above a stylish console for maximum impact, or choose a central spot in your living space and make this one the focal point. If you’re feeling brave collect a few and cluster!
Antiqued finish mirrors
If your home calls for something with a little more vintage charm to it, choose a mirrored surface with an antiqued finish. This will take away from the “bling” of a new mirror and make for a more subtle edition to your space.
If your walls are already cluttered then look into adding a mirrored finish furniture piece into the mix. Oly offer some beautiful beds, consoles and shelving units in antiqued mirror finishes. Or choose a piece with an all over mirrored finish for a more contemporary look.
