One of Sydney’s finest examples of art deco glamour has opened its doors. Introducing the five star Primus Hotel Sydney. Perfectly positioned in the heart of the city, this heritage sensitive refit has breathed new life into an iconic building.
Design and architecture firm Woods Bagot were behind the transformation.
The hotel lobby is a striking space, flanked by eight scarlet scagliola columns handcrafted in Italy. The 1960s roof remained almost intact, with the addition of a showstopping skylight. The newly illuminated space beneath houses a bar and 120-seat fine-diner The Wilmot, with an open kitchen overseen by Korean chef Ryan Hong, ex Rockpool Bar & Grill and Black by Ezard, with an Asian-influenced, modern Australian menu.
Guest rooms occupy former offices, reimagined with new features like bespoke navy carpet, oak joinery, luxurious marble bathrooms and deco inspired touches to complete the look.
With a central Sydney location, the chic rooftop terrace is a treat. Privacy is ensured with a guests-only entry policy and features cabanas, a luxurious pool and long marble bar.
