Described by many as nomadic, modern, spirited and free, Heidi Middleton’s terrace home in Sydney’s Palm Beach is a visual feast that perfectly represents the designer’s innate individuality. Sitting at the helm of Australian fashion powerhouse, Sass & Bide, Heidi’s unique style is admired around the world, by designers and fashionista’s alike.
The Middleton home is an Italian style terraced villa built in the 1940’s, located on the coast of Palm Beach, just 41km north of Sydney. The home boast’s a colourful history, having previously been the home to a flamboyant Australian designer and partner, the original character is clear throughout. The entire front of the house is open to the water and is bathed in sunlight.
Heidi’s aesthetic mixes vintage beautifully with contemporary design – vintage is what inspires the designer most, in her home and the design room: “(Vintage) is what first fueled my love of fashion. I am at my happiest when I am clashing favorite vintage pieces with ‘fallen in love with’ new purchases. It is also what inspires me daily” (Middleton on Tales of Endearment).
I’ll leave you now to enjoy Heidi’s bohemian oasis:
