Summer Shadows: Casa Tatui by Vera Iachia

Who else is dreaming of a summer holiday?  I know it’s not long to go now, but it’s just so close I can almost feel the sand underfoot and smell the sunblock.

And discovering Casa Tatui by Portuguese interior designer Vera Iachia has done nothing but make me more excited for the warm weather break.

Fascinating stripy shadows created by the natural timber roofing creates a sense of sanctuary from the hot sun while still allowing the outdoor environment to be a striking feature of the interior design. The repetition of the natural timber, on wall panels around the interior, again references the surrounding landscape and connects the space with it’s exterior.

A soft colour palette of blue and white contrasts the warmth of natural timber, creating a cool, calm space that feels almost like a breath of fresh summer air.

Happy holidays !
