Places & Faces

The Tavern, Los Angeles

For those who haven’t yet discovered the work of US based Interior Designer Jeffrey Alan Marks here’s a little intro the talent that is #JAM Design.

Feast your eyes on the interior design of Tavern Restaurant– one of the hippest restaurants in Los Angeles’ upmarket Brentwood Village.

Tavern is more like three restaurants in one, complete with it’s own bakery, a deli section and gourmet shop known as the Larder, where you can pick up pastries and prepared food. They even have a picnic box filled with delicious food to take away – yum!

The interior scheme creates a sense of casual, bohemian comfort. With plush soft leather chesterfield bench seating and soaring high ceilings, the space is at once intimate and light and airy. The soft taupe and grey colour palette has a perfect indoor-outdoor feel, and the exposed brick finish teamed back with full scale trees dotted around the space makes the experience of eating there feel as though you are sitting down to dine in a friends garden. Jeffrey Alan Marks has nailed this relaxed yet detailed approach to design.

Tavern Restaurant serves excellent California style Mediterranean cuisine, and every eight weeks they have a completely different menu. Chef Suzanne Goin uses mainly ingredients from farmer markets and the Devil’s Chicken is her signature dish. Team this back with a Cucumber Margarita and everyone is happy.

Tavern Restaurant in LA is a must-stop place for coffee, drinks, lunch, take-away, and an interior scheme that is 100% #jamapproved.
