Tom Isaacs, our international Food & Beverage Manager at L’Americano shares his list of must-try dishes and drinks at our Newmarket, Fortitude Valley and Alexandria sites.
Tom’s Pick: Insalata con Burrata
It’s hard to go past a simple but perfectly executed dish. The best way to excite the palate is with the Insalata con Burrata. The centrepiece of the plate is a ball of soft, stretchy, creamy burrata that spills out when cut into.
The bursts of sweet cherry tomatoes, generous lashings of extra virgin olive oil, and thinly sliced salty prosciutto make it almost impossible to stop eating. Best enjoyed with a glass of Poderi Crisci Merlot for Italian soul food at it’s finest.
And if you find it impossible to decide on just one dish, I’d recommend the High Tea. Available exclusively at our Newmarket site, for $40 per person you can enjoy a selection of savoury and dessert delights.
Fortitude Valley, Brisbane
Tom’s Pick: L’Americano Signature Salad + Yoghurt Berry Cheesecake (seasonal)
A salad unlike any other, each bite is salty, tangy and absolutely moreish. Delicately balanced with pan-fried pancetta, bursts of citrus and shredded mint; you’ll savour each bite. This salad is perfectly complemented with a glass of chilled rosé. However, if you’re feeling extra indulgent you have to try the seasonal Yoghurt Berry Cheesecake. The ideal dessert choice for summer, it’s a crowd-favourite amongst customers and staff.
Tom’s Pick: Cured Salmon, Avocado & Eggs
For a classic Australian breakfast, avocado toast springs to mind. We’ve just launched our new Summer menu and revamped the breakfast cult classic with the premium additions of cured salmon, eggs, and a sprinkling of hazelnut dukkah. Pair with a strong latte on oat milk for a delicious start to your morning.
