After visiting dozens and dozens of showrooms, design and art galleries, concept stores and architectural agencies, the most memorable exhibitions during Paris Design Week were all at AD Intérieurs 2012.

Held in the prestigious auction house ARTCURIAL, thirteen French Decorators exhibited their designs, all along their interpretation of the theme: “An Imaginary Voyage”.

Francois-Joseph Graf:

As an evocation of Africa and the treasure of Timbuktu, Graf created stonewall mixed with wood panel to redefine the space, the ‘Bleu Klein’ ceiling is just stunning and sets the tone for all the other fabric elements. Furniture pieces, especially designed for the exhibition, mix rust and precious wood, bones with stone, and are just like a piece of African art.

Chahan Minassian:

As a response of this fantastic Bernard Buffet painting and the ceramic wall by Peter Lane, the loungeroom here invites us to contemplate of these works of art. The subtle camaieu for the furnishing is contrasted by the difference of materials, the softness and the hardness, the bright and the matte.

Joseph Dirand:

The masterpiece of this exhibition was the Maharajah bathroom for Louis Vuitton. Marble, ebony, bronze and white gold, all the traditional French craft arts are present in this room, inspired by the Louis Vuitton customer of the 1930’s.

For me, this room is the symbol of ‘Less is More’; choose beautiful, good quality materials and your interior will look stunning.

Jean Louis Deniot:

An African pattern is developed all around the room as an infinite vision – almost an obsession. There is no reason to be scared of a graphic interior here; it looks fantastic!

Other Designers exhibiting: Bruno Moinard, Pierre Yovanovitch, Vincent Darre, Dimore studio, Rose Anne de Pampelonne, Charles Zana, Rafael de Cardenas, Francis Sultana and Thierry Lemaire.

Bon Voyage –
