How To Prepare Your Home For Spring

I know it’s hard to believe, but Spring is just around the corner. This is the perfect time of year to prepare your home for the warmer months ahead.

Giving your home a fresh new look is quick and easy by simply changing a couple of accessories, layers and even a slight change of colour scheme.

Here are some of the best ideas to rescue your home out of its Winter rut:

Soft Furnishings

Updating your scatter cushions or upholstery in your living room or bedroom is a fantastic way of really changing the aesthetic and feel of your room. Fabric is like artwork and sets the mood. For Spring, bring in lighter linens and relaxed patterns. Lose the reindeer and fur throws and focus on keeping the palette much cleaner. Updating your linen in the bedroom is also a great way to give your room a crisp new look.

Bring The Outside In

Naturally Spring is the season to utilise the beautiful floral available to us at this time of year. Visit the markets and create clusters of flowers and foliage throughout your home. Having plants in your home softens the overall look and gives an organic feel.

If you’re not one to have indoor plants, you can also achieve this style by bringing in some floral prints on scatter cushions or even updating your artwork to a botanical themed piece.

Colour Pop

Colourful accessories and accent pieces are an inexpensive way to update your home for Spring. Using vases, trays and books as styling elements transforms the look and feel of the space. This is also the best way to look at current trends and fashion items and implement these in your home.

Update your Scents

Smell triggers memories and emotion and is one of the most personal ways to evoke a feeling of Spring time in your home. Scents from Coco Republic like Tahitian Lime and Island Breeze (the names really give it away!) are citrusy and fresh and will transport you to another place.

Happy Spring decorating!
