I get more than a little excited at this time of year – not only is there festive cheer in the air but Summer is here, which means long warm days followed by relaxing balmy nights dining in the great outdoors. Nothing beats a night entertaining al fresco with family and friends.
Interior designers have spent years bringing the outdoors in, but this year I am enjoying a twist on this by taking the indoors out. When we think alfresco dining, we often think of casual get togethers with barbeques and plastic wares: but this year I am planning to introduce a sense of occasion to my alfresco dining.
The use of candlelight and an elegant place setting can turn the simplest of barbeques into occasion not to be forgotten. Whether it is a dinner party with a group of friends or an intimate dinner with loved ones, the simplest of touches can transform the night.
If space doesn’t allow for you to entertain in the alfresco way the use of floral and foliage across the table can immediately transform your home to a secret garden.
One of the key elements that contributes to a great alfresco dining experience is the furniture and decor. Try adding these pieces to your home and be ready to do some alfresco entertaining.
