Tailored Elegance: Navy And Gold

The relaxed coastal-country home incorporating natural textures and light, fresh colours is a dream for many Australians. But so too is a glamorous home where interior designers are asked to recreate the refined, opulent and high end style of luxury hotels.

Regal and traditional, navy and gold is a dynamic combination, perfect to achieve this tailored aesthetic. The pairing brings a level of sophistication to any interior – dark, rich navy contrasts against opulent gold or brass metallic. Navy and gold combines in any room of the home from living space to kitchen and bathroom.

In wet areas, think beautiful shaker style cabinetry in an indigo shade paired with crisp white marble benchtops and brass hardware in cabinet handles, taps and décor. In living spaces, go bold with navy wallpaper or painted walls contrasted with a treasured artwork in a regal gold frame.

You’ll often find navy and gold paired with white detail such as joinery trims, stone benchtops and high ceilings.

Jonathan Adler and Oly from Coco Republic both have a wide selection of beautiful gold metallic pieces to channel this aesthetic at home. Each Coco Republic showroom has an upholstery room to select bespoke fabric for sofas, occasional chairs and bedheads.

To create a penthouse worthy lounging area in a master bedroom, combine the Jonathan Adler Mrs Godfrey Settee in rich navy velvet, Oly Kaleidoscope Mirror in luxurious gold and Oly Diego Round Side Table.

Greg Natale, David Hicks and Brendan Wong are a few Australian designers incredibly admired for their opulent and rich interiors. See below our gallery for inspiration.
