Outdoor Is The New Indoor

Summer is upon us… So it’s time to take note of Coco Republic’s latest furniture collection for stylish open-air living.

The breezy coastal charm of California modernism combined with the relaxed sophistication of the Italian Riviera in summertime have inspired the outdoor furniture collection.

The 2019-2020 outdoor collection of over 100 pieces is expertly crafted for Australian alfresco living, featuring a range of international designs that maximise style and comfort.

The beautifully crafted new range takes on classic designs whilst embracing contemporary design, using mixed materials and durable fabrications, we see clean lines perfect for lounging or indoor/outdoor entertaining. A mix of natural and manmade materials and textures, including teak, aluminium, steel, rope or woven fabric adds interest and versatility to any outdoor environment.

Anthony Spon-Smith, Coco Republic Creative Director & Co-Owner, says the range takes its design cues from the alfresco lifestyle synonymous with coastal California living and summers by the Italian Riviera. This season he was also inspired by Parisian interiors bringing simple and elegant silhouettes coupled with mixed materials.

Anthony Spon-Smith, says of the outdoor collection, “This new outdoor line is one that I’m incredibly proud of, having designed the majority of the collection in-house. California and Italy are two of my favourite places and, design-wise, I wanted to take the best from both of these worlds with a Parisian twist to create a relaxed, comfortable line with contemporary styling to complement the Australian way of life.”

Coco Republic’s new outdoor collection includes exquisitely crafted teak dining tables and contemporary occasional and dining chairs perfect for entertaining, luxurious sofas and modular lounges, versatile occasional pieces, unique accent stools and planters with adaptable concrete styles.

One of Anthony’s favourite pieces from the collection is the Bronto. He explains, “The Bronto features a new weave technique not seen anywhere in outdoor. It provides a luxurious finish to a simple elegant shape. Mixing materials is a challenge when designing outdoor, it’s hard to get the balance right, however I feel I have achieved this with the Bronto collection, it’s the perfect mix of rope weave, A-Grade Teak timber and form”.

Other standout pieces include the Solis Sofa featuring a classic roll arm with a contemporary twist, this Sofa is full of personality whilst providing comfort and durability. The Montmartre Chair is a classic shape that is a beautiful silhouette, the Marco Dining Chair is a beautifully designed chair at an attractive price. Finally, the Montecito Planter is a unique tri-leg set up, it is contemporary yet fits in any space.
