What's On

Study Interior Decorating And Styling

For those who are interested in a career in interior decorating or styling or simply have a love of all things home and design, then let me introduce you to the
Coco Republic Design School.

The Design School has over 10 courses available with flexible options for the full time worker, busy stay at home mum and those with a little more time on their hands.

Have very little time on your hands? Then try a one day Saturday masterclass. Want to take a week off work or have free time? Enrol in our 5.5 day accelerators in Interior Decoration Essentials 101 and Styling Essentials 101. Can’t commit to day study? We have evening courses for both decoration and styling. Not in Sydney or Melbourne for on campus learning? Book in for our online courses with three options to choose from.

Let me introduce you to our three core courses:

Interior Decorator Essentials 101
This course will give you a thorough understanding of the key concepts and terms used by professional interior decorators, with an insight into colour schemes, soft furnishings, window coverings, lighting and more. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to advise clients on interior decoration projects, including recommending soft furnishings and design decorations to a project brief. Create mood, colour and materials’ boards with professional style and graduate with your own portfolio pieces to entice future clients or employers.

Styling Essentials 101
A superb introduction to the world of interior styling, this course is designed to provide an overview of the tools, information and processes employed by professional interior stylists. Students will engage in practical exercises to develop an understanding of the elements and principles of design, and how these can be applied to achieve the desired effect within a styled space. Further, students will explore their own personal style by creating a styling scheme for a client brief. By the time you complete the course, you’ll be able to source, assess and recommend products for interior styling projects with ease.

Colour for Interiors 401
By the end of this course you’ll have the ability to understand how to effectively combine colour by creating colour harmonies. We’ll give you the confidence to create an interior colour palette for any project and you’ll gain a deep understanding of how colour can alter our perception of an interior space as well as being able to ‘read’ the interaction of light with your colour choices. And to top it all, you’ll leave with a beautiful portfolio piece demonstrating how well you have answered a colour consulting client brief.
